Am I allergic to nail polish?

Every time I paint my finger nails and toe nails I get nail polish on the skin around my nail and the next day it always itches and breaks out in what I am guessing is hives but I'm not sure. Does this mean I am allergic to nail polish. And it doesn't matter the brand I have used Hot Topic's to Charlotte Russe and whatever others I get a hold of.
