What would the Founding Fathers have thought about evolution?

Jefferson had an open mind. He had to have had one, since he was president and not really a bad guy. And let's face it, in that time period, to have hooked up with a black chick meant for certain you saw things differently than most. I think, though the Declaration of Independence says otherwise, I think that Jefferson would have been open to the idea of evolution. Given the amount of proof there is to support it, he would have been slightly "ok" with the idea, but perhaps not supporting it.
